India’s Debacle — Headline which is dying for Attention?

India all out for 76 a news which is making big headline in all corner of media. The million dollar question why?
Lets try and understand about it. In my last article I have already written the fact media does not drive audience emotions but audiences emotion are driven by media’s act, media is only showing what we as audiences wants to see. Every individual around india will stop its day to day work and start discussing about cricket why?. For a person who makes a earning out of it makes sense but for rest ? …..

We are missing the fact that its a sport which should be played with sportmanship and watched sportively, we should not attach our extreme emotions to it because there are many more things in life than cricket. One fine day when india won the recent CB series in australia the cricketers were raised to cloud nine and then one odd day they dont do well they are thrown into a deep abyss (there are acts which justifies that after the world cup debacle there were individuals who ranshacked Dhoni’s house and after winning Dhonis put on the top of hit list and most demanding media puller in india).

Are we too obsessed with cricket or Newton’s law of gravity which says anything which goes up has to come down, agreed but how high and how low ??? at least not like Dhoni’s case.

Some individual attaches national pride with cricket agreed… they are playing for the country’s honor agreed… we should respect agreed… but how much do we respect? our army jawans who’s martyrdom languishes in a corner of 6-7 page of a national news paper(even Dhoni’s haircut or yuvraj’s affair makes a bigger news than the sacrifise which they do for us).

What I personally feel there are only 1% people who are actually obssesed or passionate about cricket rest all are just obessed with hype and hoolah thats created around cricket. My sincere advice to this 99% is just be sensible and use your commonsense. My advice to media specially tv channels focus on business don’t play with emotions of public to increase your TRP, because the no. of people who watch news are more than who read news.
